    On-Site Sessions

Awareness, Preparedness, Resilience with Cyber Tools and Services - Room 100/101
With 5 billion plus internet users, can counties feel safe to continue to live, work, play, and thrive in cyberspace? According to a cyber study, a cyber attack took place every 39 seconds in 2023, which translates into over 2,200 cases per day. With more than 22 billion devices connected to the internet, it is imperative that counties are aware of the best practices to protect themselves and their constituents' data from cyber attacks. Guest presenter Stanton Gatewood with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) will share how counties can practice awareness, preparedness and resilience to safeguard their county from potential cyber threats.

County Success Under the Gold Dome - Room 200/201
Join the Governmental Affairs Team for a recap of the 2024 Legislative Session. Members of the ACCG Governmental Affairs Team will provide a summary of significant legislation impacting Georgia counties that passed during the 2024 session of the Georgia General Assembly. A cursory overview of important bills that did not pass will also be provided.

Counties, Mental Health, and the Georgia Opioid Settlement Advisory Council - Oglethorpe Auditorium
Join the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) for a presentation and discussion on this year’s top priorities. DBHDD is focusing on workforce development, training initiatives, pay parity and jail-in reach programming with the ultimate goal of enhancing availability and accessibility of mental health resources throughout the state. There will also be an overview of the opioid settlement in Georgia with an emphasis on ACCG’s role in implementing the Regional Advisory Councils. On the policy front, DBHDD is committed to staying closely involved with the state legislature to ensure agency legislation and other related bills are getting the attention and support they need, including the utilization of FY25 funds.
